OVERVIEW
Titanic: Hesit on the High Seas is a card game, with board game elements, set on board the RMS Titanic. Players are members of the Pennyweight Gang; who love expensive jewels, who have set their unscrupulous hearts on stealing the world famous Sun-Drop Star Diamond Necklace. Disaster strikes as the ship is unexpectedly hit by an enormous iceberg. Now it’s a race to find and steal the real Sun-Drop Star Diamond from whichever gang member has it, and grab a space on the last lifeboat.
ATMOSPHERE
The aim of the game is to be the player holding the Sun-Drop Star Diamond card and grab a lifeboat before the Titanic sinks. As the game progresses through 7 rounds, players use card combinations to fortify themselves, sabotage other players’ chances, search other players’ hands or outright steal from each other. Playing between 1 and 3 of each card type gives players access to a range of varying powers. Each round unveils a new Titanic Card with unexpected events that affect all players. As the game progresses the ship sinks further into the icy sea, causing more panic among the players and
diminishes their hopes of escaping alive with the Sun-Drop Star Diamond. MECHANICS
The mechanics and theme mesh perfectly to create a game system that, although different every time, always produces a tight well-paced experience that builds to a desperate conclusion. The nature of the hidden Sun-drop Star Diamond card and the way players can either search or steal (not both) in a turn builds suspicion, misinformation and false conclusions. Test playing has
revealed that the narrative elements, combined with the constantly rising of the sea level, produces a feeling of panic and tension as they try to avoid the inevitable. SELLING POINTS• Easy to learn, full of strategy
